Peanuts, Crackerjack, Hot Dogs and Beer! What more could you ask for on a hot summer day, 95% humidity and not a breeze to be felt for miles? How about a doubleheader between the Mets and Yankees
for a last hurrah in those classic ballparks: Shea Stadium and Yankee Stadium.
I'm a baseball nut! A fanatic! I'm so obsessed that when I came across this great little widget from developer Plusmo, I knew I would be in baseball seventh heaven. Now, take it from me, a Washington Nationals fan, whose team is in the basement in the entire National League, you sometimes need a distraction during the 5th inning from watching the visiting team beat the living daylights out of you. And here is where Baseball Pro comes in. Sometimes that scoreboard out in center field just doesn't provide enough detail for the statistics junkie that you've become.
Better yet, Baseball Pro is going to keep you apprised of all the latest headlines in the league. Here, you can keep a constant watch on all on those record breaking opportunities, like Griffey's 600th home run.
Besides keeping up-to-date of all the latest scores, stats and headlines, Baseball Pro also provides quick access to division standings as well as an at-a-glance of all the scheduled pitchers for that day's games.
If anyone remembers last years National League East Divison race, that one came down to the wire with potential ties for the playoff spots that were difficult to keep straight in your head. Well, this year, Pro Baseball will be at your side in one hand, while you're sipping that $10.00 beer in the other. Next time your seat mate asks you who's pitching for the Red Sox that night, you'll have instant gratification.
So what are you waiting on? It's almost the All-Star break and the Nationals better start winning more than one game a week if they're even going to have a prayer. Let's play ball!
- Bob (who may be waiting as long as the Cubs for a World Series win in Washington)
Lastly before I go, here is a great shot from Monday at Nationals Park at the end of a rain delay that started the game 90 minutes late. The Nats unfortunately lost 3-2 to the Angels on 2 errors.
